Marl Coatings Smooth Masonry paint is a high performance durable water based formulation in a matt finish. It’s tough, flexible, dirt resistant, and offers years of protection. Water–based masonry paints are designed to protect and decorate exterior masonry surfaces like brick, concrete, render, stone, and cement blocks. Our product is popular because its easy to apply, dries quickly and is more environmentally friendly than solvent-based alternatives on the market.

 Coverage

• 20 Litres masonry paint covers approx 125 sqm
• 20 Litres masonry pre seal covers approx 200sqm

Drying times

• 3 – 4 hours touch dry and can recoat 6-8 hours depending on weather and temperature.

Application

• All bricks need to be pre sealed first before using the masonry paint as bricks can be very absorbent.
• Dusty or flaking areas should be treated by brushing with a hard wire brush then seal with our pre seal masonry stabilising solution
• Ensure area is clean and dry
• Open the can and give it a good mix
• 2 coats to be applied by brush or roller leaving adequate drying time in between coats.

Where to Use Water-Based Masonry Paint:

• Exterior walls (homes, garages, sheds)
• Interior concrete or block walls (basements, workshops, factories, warehouses)
• Garden walls and retaining walls
• Kennel / cattery walls

Surface Preparation:

• Clean the surface (remove dirt, loose paint, algae) No contamination can be present before painting.
• Repair cracks and holes with masonry filler if needed.
• Etch or roughen smooth surfaces if needed.
• Prime bare or chalky surfaces with our masonry pre seal stabilising primer (available on our website).

Only coat when surface will be free from rain /moisture for a minimum of 24 hours
